Salina Soccer Club Codes of Conduct

The Salina Soccer Club requires all players, coaches, parents, and spectators to follow the Codes of Conduct. Failure to comply with these Rules of Conduct may result in suspension from being present at the field for games and practices for the following periods:

1st offense: May result in probation to a 1 month suspension.
2nd offense:  May result in a 1 month to 1 year suspension.
3rd offense:  May result in a 1 year to a 5 year or permanent suspension.

Dependent on the type of behavior exhibited and the degree of harm done, as determined by representatives from the Salina Soccer Club, any violator may be sanctioned with 3rd offense consequences at any time.

A grievance may be addressed by notifying the Directors of Coaching in writing.


Player:

1.  I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, game officials and parents at all times.

2.  I will refrain from negative comments to the officials.

3.  I will remember that soccer is an opportunity to learn and have fun.  I will do the best I can each day, remembering that all players have talents and weaknesses as I also have.  I will treat teammates with respect.

4.  I will not make negative comments to players of the opposing team or their spectators.

5.  I will play by the rules, exercise self control and resist the temptation to retaliate.

6.  While traveling, I shall conduct myself so as to be a credit to myself, my team and my community.

7.  No alcohol, illegal drugs or unauthorized prescription drugs shall be possessed, consumed or distributed before, during or after any game or at any other time at the field and/or game complex.


Coach:

1. I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, game officials and parents at all times.

2.  I will lead by example, showing respect for others, demonstrating fair play and treating players with dignity.

3.  I will not tolerate inappropriate behavior.

4.  I will not make negative comments to players of the opposing team or their spectators.

5.  I will remember that first and foremost I am a teacher. I will be teaching about the game- skill and rules management, conduct, fair play, personal discipline and motivation to the best of my ability.

6.  No alcohol, illegal drugs or unauthorized prescription drugs shall be possessed, consumed or distributed before, during or after any game or at any other time at the field and/or game complex.


Parent/Spectator:

1.   I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, game officials and parents at all times.

2.  I will refrain from negative comments to the officials.

3.  I will provide encouragement for each player on the field, not just my own child.

4.  I will not make negative comments to players of the opposing team or their spectators.

5.  I will not coach from the sidelines.

6.  I will encourage my child to support the decisions of coaches and referees and to treat other players with respect.

7.  I will not enter the playing field for any reason unless requested by an official in case of a severe injury.

8.   No alcohol, illegal drugs or unauthorized prescription drugs shall be possessed, consumed or distributed before, during or after any game or at any other time at the field and/or game complex.
